Great Facilities For Everyone!
2020 – The Lodge remains closed. The facilities are not available this year.
The Lodge is well equipped and offers a great range of facilities.
There is a large self catering kitchen available for guests to use – with free tea & coffee always on offer.
The dining room has seating for up to 45 guests, and the adjacent comfy lounge has space for about 15 folk on sofas & chairs.
The drying room is very efficient – so you can start the day dry! We also have a laundry room that is available to guests.
Lounge & Shop
Just adjacent to the dining room, and beside reception, is our guest lounge. Fitted with comfy IKEA armchairs and a big sofa its a great place to relax with a book or open out a board game. In winter (and chilly summer evenings!) we light the real fire stove to keep things cosy. There are all sorts of local reference books with details on the walking, geology and history of the Assynt area.
The Lounge has a Hi-Fi with an iPod input, plus free WiFi is available. As of March 2019 the WiFi speed has been increased by BT so now actually works!
At reception we have a small shop selling a selection of sweets, snacks, frozen food, soft drinks, essential toiletries and books & maps. It’s not a supermarket – but certainly there is enough to get by with – and avoid an extra journey to Ullapool for a toothbrush! As a result of the licensing laws we do NOT have an Off-Sales licence for Beer & Wine.- please bring your own!
Reception shop is open 8.30am to 9pm
Kitchen & Dining
We have a large well-equipped self catering kitchen – available for use by all Lodge guests – equipped with stainless steel work benches and sinks, gas / electric cookers, microwaves and large Fridges. Freezer space is also available and boxes are provided for storage of other foods.
There is a second smaller kitchen also available for guests, although either kitchen could be reserved for groups if we have any staying (at least 1 kitchen is always available for general use).
The chance to prepare your own packed lunches & evening meals can save a fortune on the cost of eating out every day.
The Dining room seats about 45 people at our large solid pine social dining tables. In the cooler months a roaring fire in the stove keeps out the chill. A large window provides lovely views over Loch Assynt and towards Quinag, and there are French doors out to picnic tables.
Our self service breakfast of cereals, toast & preserves, fruit juices and fresh coffee & tea is available for all guests from 8am until 9.30am.
